Alaya Sexton

Alaya is the co-owner and program director of Iron and Grace and a recognized fitness industry leader. Her expertise draws from nearly 20 years of diverse education, training, and experience in fitness and wellness. She studied Viniyoga in 1994, not intending to have it set her on a health and fitness educator path, then became a certified personal trainer and Spinning instructor in 1995 and has since dabbled in most fitness trends over the years. When she discovered Pilates in 1998 it revolutionized her approach to all of her fitness endeavors. She was first certified via the Physical Mind Method and later by STOTT PILATES and is fully certified in all equipment and qualified to teach people who are rehabilitating and have other special needs.  She is one of the first instructors worldwide to have received the esteemed honor of being an Instructor Trainer in the STOTT PILATES method. In that role, she travelled the world teaching certification courses, presenting and working fitness industry tradeshows for 12 years. She believes in the heart of Joe Pilates' work and its ability to bridge the gap between medicine and movement, following that belief, she's sought education in  various brands of Pilates and is pre-trained in Gyrotonic expansion and gyrokinesis. Alaya is engaged and passionate about the study of movement and healing and continues to seek innovative and cutting edge education. Beyond Pilates and yoga, Alaya is trained in TRX, Rip Training, Anatomy Trains, Z health performance solutions, Pink Ribbon Program, Booty Barre, Total Barre, Reiki, FMS and Thai massage.  She is also a USAW certified strength and conditioning coach.
Her breadth of knowledge is applied to assure that all her students reach their goals safely and effectively.

Dani Wolf

Dani received her BA in dance from the University of Minnesota and currently teaches dance at Premier Dance Academy in addition to teaching Pilates at Vitality. While dancing at the U she was introduced to Pilates and was so intrigued that she wanted to learn about it and completed her first training through the Physical Mind Institute. Still wanting more, she later became certified on the mat and reformer through STOTT PILATES and has been teaching for 6 years. She has worked with various local choreographers and has had the opportunity to perform on a barge, in a library window, on the banks of the Missisippi River and on a mountain. She is an ACE Certified personal trainer, trained in Healing Touch and receiving training in Yamuna Body rolling. She also is Pink Ribbon Program certified. Dani most enjoys all the wonderful people who touch her life through Pilates.

Leah Harris

Leah was introduced to Pilates while working as an Occupational Therapist in an outpatient clinic in San Diego. While using Pilates based exercises as a rehabilitation tool, she soon realized the impact Pilates had in aiding the recovery and subsiding the pain of injured clients.In 2004, dedicated to a life-long pursuit in helping clients live healthy, functional lives, Leah moved to Seattle where she began Pilates instructor training. Leah has been certified since 2006 as a Stott Pilates instructor in mat, reformer, Cadillac, chair, and barrel. Furthermore, Leah has received additional training in advanced mat exercises and Pilates for injuries and special populations. Having been a therapist for 5 years, Leah is continually attending workshops and seminars to increase her education and knowledge base in providing client-centered therapeutic exercise programs, particularly in the areas of ergonomics and pain management. She utilizes her clinical background and employs her knowledge of anatomy and therapeutic exercise to empower clients to achieve their full potential. Leah is Pink Ribbon Program Certified

Julie Preston

Julie was first introduced to Pilates in 1989 during dance training under Bridgit Matuscheck, of Colorado Ballet. In September of 2001 Julie and her husband relocated from Colorado to Lynchburg to pursue historic restoration of a home in the downtown area where they reside. Julie can work with a broad range of clients but has particular interest and training to work with injuries and special populations and seniors. Julie received her matwork certification through STOTT PILATES ® in Toronto in 2003 and has since taken training on the Stability chair.  She is certified through ACSM as a personal trainer, trained in TRX suspension training and FMS. She is a lover of creativity and art and approaches her work meticulously but with an open heart and mind. Julie taught Pilates as well as dance, as the Director of Assemblé Dance Studio from 2002-2010.
Always a fun combination of mat – based exercises executed with different stability equipment. This mixed level sculpting class also adds resistance with balls, bands and weights. A challenging and complete workout!
